How to change your Gmail background image
Want to customize your Gmail mailbox? Follow this instruction and get to know how to set up your own image as a Gmail background.
How to change the background of your Gmail interface.

Click the gear icon at the top right to expand the list of settings tabs.

Click on the
Themes
button.

You will find the list of suggested images. Choose an image from the list, or upload your own.

To upload your custom picture for the Gmail background, follow those steps:
- Go to Google Photos : photos.google.com
- Press
+ Create
-> Album
.
- Set its title, then click
Add photos
.
- Drag the selected photo from your computer to the Google Photos main window.
- Once the photo is uploaded, click the checkbox icon in the upper left corner.
- Go back to the Gmail page, close the background selection window (this is necessary to update
the Google Photo album settings within your Gmail account), and open the background
selection dialog again.
- Click the
My photos
button below the list of pictures.
- Select the
My photos
tab.
- Select your uploaded picture.
- Press the
Select
button at the bottom.

At the bottom of the background selection window, you can also change the color of the text of the entire
Gmail interface (set Light or Dark), as well as use the built-in filters Vignette and Blur.

Click
Save
to save the selected screen saver or Cancel
if you want to return
the screen saver to its previous settings.

Go to the Gmail theme list tab (see step 1 at the beginning of this article).

Choose a
Default
preset from the list.

Press the
Save
button to save the settings.
