How to Delete Photos from iCloud but Keep Them on Your iPhone

It can be frustrating when you have too many photos and videos saved on your iCloud account and you don’t want to lose them, but you need to free up some storage space. Fortunately, there is a way to delete photos from your iCloud account but still keep them on your iPhone. Here are the steps to take to do this.

Step 1: Open the Photos App
The first step is to open the Photos app on your iPhone. This is usually located on the home screen.

Step 2: Go to the Albums Tab
Once you are in the Photos app, tap the Albums tab at the bottom of the screen. This will show you a list of all the albums you have on your device.

Step 3: Select the Album that Contains the Photos You Want to Delete
Scroll through the list of albums until you find the one that contains the photos you want to delete. Tap on it to open it.

Step 4: Select the Photos You Want to Delete
Once you are inside the album, you will see all the photos. Select the ones you want to delete by tapping on them. You can select multiple photos at once by tapping and dragging your finger over them.

Step 5: Delete the Photos from iCloud
Once you have selected the photos you want to delete, tap the trash can icon at the bottom of the screen. This will delete the photos from your iCloud account, but not from your iPhone.

Step 6: Confirm the Deletion
A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Tap the “Delete” button to confirm.

Step 7: Go to the Recently Deleted Folder
After you have deleted the photos from your iCloud account, they will still be stored in your Recently Deleted folder. This is a safety measure to make sure you don’t accidentally delete photos you don’t want to. To access this folder, go back to the Albums tab and scroll to the bottom. You should see the Recently Deleted folder.

Step 8: Restore the Photos to Your iPhone
If you want to keep the photos on your iPhone, you will need to restore them from the Recently Deleted folder. To do this, tap the “Restore” button at the bottom of the screen. This will restore the photos to your iPhone, but not your iCloud account.

Step 9: Delete the Photos from Your iPhone
If you don’t want to keep the photos on your iPhone, you can delete them from the Recently Deleted folder. To do this, tap the photos you want to delete and then tap the trash can icon at the bottom of the screen. This will delete them from your iPhone, but not your iCloud account.

Deleting photos from your iCloud account but keeping them on your iPhone is a great way to free up storage space on your iCloud account without losing your photos. Follow the steps above and you will be able to do this quickly and easily.
