How to Uninstall Avast on Windows OS

This article explains the easy steps to take to successfully uninstall Avast from your Windows operating system. With this guide, you can quickly remove Avast and make sure it is completely gone from your computer.

How to Uninstall Avast on Windows OS

Avast is one of the most popular antivirus programs available for Windows operating systems. It offers a wide range of features including real-time protection from viruses, malware, and other threats. However, if you no longer need the program and want to uninstall it from your system, you can do so easily. Here’s how to uninstall Avast on Windows OS.

Step 1: Open the Control Panel

The first step is to open the Control Panel. You can do this by clicking the Start menu and selecting Control Panel. If you’re using Windows 10, you can simply type “Control Panel” in the search bar.

Step 2: Select Uninstall a Program

Once the Control Panel is open, select the “Uninstall a Program” option. This will open a list of all the programs currently installed on your system.

Step 3: Locate Avast

Scroll down the list until you find Avast. Once you’ve located it, click on it to select it.

Step 4: Uninstall Avast

Once Avast is selected, click the “Uninstall” button. This will open a pop-up window asking you to confirm the uninstallation. Click “Yes” to confirm and begin the uninstallation process.

Step 5: Allow the Uninstallation to Complete

Once you’ve confirmed the uninstallation, the process will begin. It may take a few minutes to complete, so please be patient. Once it’s finished, Avast will be removed from your system.

Step 6: Check for Leftover Files

Even after you’ve uninstalled Avast, there may be some leftover files on your system. To make sure they’re all gone, you can use a program like CCleaner to scan your computer for any leftover Avast files. If any are found, you can delete them manually.

Step 7: Reboot Your System

Once you’ve checked for leftover files, it’s a good idea to reboot your system. This will ensure that any changes made during the uninstallation process are applied properly.

Uninstalling Avast from your Windows system is a relatively straightforward process. All you need to do is open the Control Panel, select the “Uninstall a Program” option, locate Avast, click the “Uninstall” button, and allow the process to complete. Once it’s finished, you can check for any leftover files and reboot your system. That’s all there is to it!
