Before you proceed, it’s important to note that uninstalling Skype for Business will also remove other applications related to it, such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Lync. Therefore, it is recommended that you take a backup of your data before you proceed.

Step 1: Uninstall Skype for Business from the Control Panel

The first step is to uninstall Skype for Business from the Control Panel. To do this, go to the Start menu, click on the Control Panel, and select the “Uninstall a Program” option. From the list of programs that appear, locate Skype for Business and click on the “Uninstall” option. This will start the uninstallation process. Follow the instructions that appear onscreen to complete the uninstallation.

Step 2: Remove Skype for Business from the Registry

Once Skype for Business has been uninstalled from the Control Panel, you will need to remove it from the Registry. To do this, press the Windows key and R together to open the Run prompt. In the Run prompt, type “regedit” and press enter. This will open the Registry Editor.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following location:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Skype

Right-click on the Skype folder and click on the “Delete” option. This will delete the Skype folder as well as any associated files.

Step 3: Remove Skype for Business Files

The next step is to remove any remaining Skype for Business files from your computer. To do this, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

In this folder, look for any folders or files related to Skype for Business and delete them.

Step 4: Empty the Recycle Bin

Once you have deleted all the Skype for Business files, you will need to empty the Recycle Bin. To do this, open the Recycle Bin and select the “Empty Recycle Bin” option. This will permanently delete all the files and folders that you deleted in the previous step.
