How to Disable Windows Ink on Your Computer

Windows Ink is a feature released in the Fall of 2016 with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. It allows users to draw and write on the screen with compatible devices such as a digital pen or stylus. While this feature can be useful for some people, others may find it to be intrusive and distracting. If you are looking to disable Windows Ink on your computer, there are several steps you can take to do so.

Step 1: Go to the Start Menu

The first step is to open the Start menu. To do this, click the Windows logo in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Find the Settings App

Once the Start menu is open, you will need to find the Settings app. You can do this by clicking the gear icon on the left side of the menu.

Step 3: Open the Pen and Windows Ink Settings

Once you’ve opened the Settings app, you will need to navigate to the Pen and Windows Ink settings. To do this, click the “Devices” tab at the top of the window, then click the “Pen and Windows Ink” option on the left side of the window.

Step 4: Turn Off Windows Ink

Once you’ve opened the Pen and Windows Ink settings, you can turn off Windows Ink by clicking the toggle switch next to the “Enable Windows Ink” option. This will disable the feature on your computer.

Step 5: Close the Settings App

Once you’ve disabled Windows Ink, you can close the Settings app by clicking the “X” in the top right corner of the window. This will save your changes and close the app.

Step 6: Restart Your Computer

The last step is to restart your computer to ensure that the changes take effect. To do this, click the “Start” button and select the “Restart” option from the drop-down menu. This will restart your computer and apply the changes you made.

Disabling Windows Ink on your computer is a relatively simple process that can be done in just a few steps. By following the steps outlined above, you should be able to easily disable this feature and keep your computer running smoothly.
